What got you into music?

Ever since I was a little kid my parents would play music to make me go to sleep, and ever since I picked up a guitar the music never stopped.

What made you want to play in a band?

When my friend showed me his Metallica DVD and I saw how amazing those guys looked up on stage, I knew that was the place I needed to be.

Why did you pick the particular instrument you play?

In the fourth grade, I played chello for awhile. It made me want to try out the electric bass, but when my little brother bought a guitar, I started playing it; I realized it was a lot more fun.

Do you have to be in a certain state of mind to perform? If so, how do you get into this state of mind?

I dont really need to be in any sort of "state" when I perform, all I know is that I need to get out there, kick ass, and have fun. All I need to do is strap on my guitar, go out, and play.

From what point of view to you write your songs?

When I write my songs, I can find an influence of what kind of music I'm listening to at the moment. If I'm listening to a lot of blues, I will try to bring a blues feel into the song I write that day.

How would you classify your music?

I would classify our music as progressive metal more than anything because we try to bring every type of music together into one song, go its hard to really catagorize us.

As far as local bands go, do you consider yourselves successful? Why or why not?

I consider us (Vanish) as a band successful because a lot of my friends are in bands, and they don't do anything except smoke and mess around. When we get together we all work toward a common goal which brings us all together.

"It's all about the music." Do you agree or disagree? Why?

From my personal life, I agree with the statement "It's all about the music," but I can tell some people do it for the drugs, girls, and other things. I love music too much to waste it all away.

What is your opinion on music today?

THE MUSIC TODAY SUCKS!!!!! Sorry to break it to all you "nu-metal" kids, but music these days suck because everyone does it for the money. The record companies don't care about anything. BRING BACK CLASSIC ROCK!!!
